Yngve Hilding is a professional violinist & electric violinist based in Stockholm.
In addition to solo and studio assignments, Yngve appears in several different ensembles and with some of Sweden's leading event DJs.
He has close collaborations with a large number of musicians, DJs, singers & event companies. He also works with some of Sweden's largest and most exclusive wedding coordinators and wedding planning companies.
Background & education
Yngve holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in classical music from the Gothenburg Academy of Music. His classical education enables him to master a wide range of genres; everything from classical music to pop, rock, jazz & folk music, which becomes clear when you look at his references.
Yngve grew up in Leksand where he began playing the violin at the age of 5. Strongly influenced by playing by ear, he then took the next step in his education when he was accepted at the Music Conservatory, Sweden's leading music high school.
Through his solid education, Yngve has been influenced by both the great violinists in classical music (Perlman, Menuhin, etc.) and those in the jazz and rock genres (Stéphane Grappelli, Jean-Luc Ponty & Mark Wood).
At an early age, Yngve came into contact with Mark Wood, one of the world's foremost electric violinists, who recognized Yngve's talent and burning passion and made it possible for him to become the only Swedish professional electric violinist who plays the "Viper" electric violin (a custom-made and hand-built 6-string electric violin signed "Mark Wood").

Every year, Musikhjälpen is broadcast through a collaboration between SVT, SR & Radiohjälpen. Since 2019,
Yngve Hilding has contributed every year by auctioning off an exclusive wedding gig where the entire fee goes to Musikhjälpen's fundraiser for Radiohjälpen.
